This photo of the 1964 UT women’s track team made it’s way into my facebook newsfeed today, via Orangebloods.com. Pretty cool. Not sure how fast these ladies were, but you know that hairspray held.

FUN FRIDAY ANNOUNCEMENT:
This week marks my first as Art Director at Camille Styles! I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a good group of talented and kind people to work for. I’m also very much in debt to the studio art department at GSD&M and all the wonderful people there who spent the last two years teaching me how to think, create, and execute ideas.
Now, it’s time for me to go forth!

love is all you need
Well, that, a 50mm lens, and CS6. I’ve been busy giving my computers a tune-up. After upgrading my operating systems to Mt. Lion, I figured it was time to go ahead and bite the bullet on upgrading my Adobe Creative Suite, too. I’ve been busy exploring the new photoshop interface today and I’ve got to say, there are some exciting new features to this addition. I can’t wait to play around with some of the video editing software! Of course now I want to upgrade my Canon Rebel XS to something with video capability… Guaps is ready for his closeup!

LEAVES OF THREE, LET IT BE

Poison ivy ain’t no joke, y’all. And no Google, I’m not talking about Uma Thurman’s character from that one crappy Batman movie. I’m talking about a MESSED UP rash that’s hard to get rid of!

Running late to Blues on the Green last week to hear our friend (and amazing guitarist!) Ulrich Ellison play lead for Nakia, my group took a risky shortcut off the trail and through the woods in Zilker. Now it is the full-on itchy & scratchy show over here. My arm probably isn’t going to have to get amputated, but if it does rest assured that I will spend the rest of my life hanging around the park telling people, “And that’s why you don’t take shortcuts.”

But seriously, this stuff is all over central Texas right now (possibly due to the mild winter?) so look out. If you do happen to make contact, I can tell you what’s been working for me: an over-the-counter medication called Zanfel, Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP 0.1% (prescription topical steroid cream) and a big shot of corticosteroids in the hip. Also, calling your mom and complaining seems to offer temporary relief.

Well, it was cool while it lasted.
